The Russian Non-Surgical Face and Neck Lift
This procedure was invented in 1999 by Dr. Marlen
Sulamanidze, a Russian plastic Surgeon.
One of the earliest signs that men and women are maturing
is that the eyebrow and the middle third of the face droops with
gravity, as well as tissue laxity, and loss of volume. While we
may forget our age for a while, it only takes a quick look in the
mirror to notice our faces really have changed. A less vibrant,
sad or mad look results as the cheek fat pad droops over the folds
that travel from the nose to the mouth and from the mouth to the
jaw.
These changes, which actually being in the 30's are
stubborn and resistant to treatment. Fat implants, collagen and
even facelift techniques do not completely correct the changes.
Sometimes treatments and surgery, to reduce this middle
third sag, produce a stretched or unnatural look, in addition to
the normal risk involved in surgery.
Now there is an easy method to naturally correct the
face sag with the FEATHERLIFT. The skin
is literally lifted upward, carrying the face with it. The cheek
is restored and the sagging folds are reduced with this simple procedure,
performed under local anesthesia.
Who can benefit
from this procedure?
The Russian non-surgical facelift
can produce significant improvement in the more mature patient (48-75)
who has midface sagging, the results are often dramatic. The quick
recovery makes these patients some of the most enthusiastic for
the procedure.
Patients that are younger (38-52)
will also notice outstanding changes. The results in these patients
may be a little more subtle because they have not aged as much.
These patients age first in the midface area and find that this
non surgical procedure can dramatically improve their problems with
sagging in the nose to lip folds and the mouth to chin folds.
Patients that are older (62-85) and
have had previous facelifts, or who have good skin elasticity and
have not had a facelift, may find that the FEATHERLIFT fits their
needs for facial rejuvenation. The improvement in the face can achieve
the desired goals without the need to repeat the full facelift process.
Sometimes patients who have lost their
cheeks with aging are advised to have fat injections or cheek implants.
Many of these people can avoid repeated fat injections or implants
and achieve better results with less recovery with the Russian non-surgical
FEATHERLIFT procedure.
FEATHERLIFT Threads
The threads that are used are made of polypropylene.
This material has been used in cardiac surgery and in different
types of sutures for many years. It has an excellent safety profile.
The threads actually lift and contour the face. This
is accomplished by bi-directional cogs on the threads. Once inserted
under the skin, the cogs form a new support structure for the tissues
of the face, actually lifting and contouring it.
The FEATHERLIFT is quick and safe. There are no incisions
involved. The threads are inserted through a needle which is removed
leaving the threads behind. Placement is deep in the subcutaneous
tissue along the lines where the new contour is desired.
As little as three threads can significantly raise
the cheek and two threads can pull back the jowl area. The procedure
can also be used to raise the brow and pull back the neck.
Improvement is immediate but the lifting effect is
at its peak several months later when new collagen has formed around
the threads.
The patient may return to work as early as the next
day, although there may be minimal swelling and bruising.
FEATHERLIFT Procedure
1. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia.
2. A mild anti anxiety medication is given about thirty
minutes prior to beginning the procedure.
3. Extensive measuring and marking are done prior
to thread insertion to ensure proper placement.
4. You will be draped and a sterile field applied.
5. Local anesthesia will be injected at this time.
6. The threads are then inserted through a needle
which is removed leaving the threads behind.
7. You will stay at the office for a short period
of time after the procedure.
